Hunting for Healing

Captain Randy Boggs and his family were guests of Executive Chef Chris Sherrill’s this past Saturday at Grit & Game. This was a benefit for Hunting for Healing. Hunting for Healing is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Their mission is “to provide charitable outdoor and hunting experiences to any service member, past or present, who has received a service related injury.” Captain Randy was honored to take several of these wounded warriors and their spouses fishing on Sunday.

The event was held at Perdido Beach Resort and featured Nuisance Invasive Gulf Fish, venison from “Around the World”, and wild game such as wild boar, duck, rabbit and turkey.  This event was also a qualifier for the World Food Championships.  Congratulations to Jason Perry, Chef De Cuisine of Jackson’s Steakhouse in Pensacola, FL.

Joe, fishing aboard Reel Surprise as a part of the Hunting for Healing, had a great time catching this nice red snapper.  Unfortunately, snapper season doesn't open until June 1, and he had to release it back into the water.
