The spring of the year is a great time to plan a trip targeting tunas as there are has been very little fishing pressure during the winter. The anglers who venture forth on a two-day trip are seeing great catches of black fin and Yellow fin tunas along our Gulf waters.
After catching your tuna, enjoy what you can fresh. Tuna may be preserved very easily by pressure canning in glass Ball jars. If you like your grilled tuna with a touch of Dale's Steak Sauce this may be added to the canned tuna as it gives a great taste to the fish. If you do not want to can it, you can cook it on the grill and vacuum bag it and use it to make tuna salad or tuna dip. This allows you to continue to enjoy your tuna fish for a long time after your trip.
